THE MODERN ODYSSEY

Dream of return is an emotional state concerning home and belonging. Many migrants fantasise about giving up their job, their home and their social circles to return home. They never actually do this but this emotion lies in the back of their head. Through this episode, Devana Senanayake talks to Lilliana Barbieri, Zora Frank-Durut and Eileen Capocchi to explore the root of this emotion, the clash of dream and reality and renegotiating the concept of home. Sabi Buehler reads her poem Vignettes: Memories of a German Childhood.
