THE LAKESIDE HUSTLE LIVE MUSIC TAKEOVER AT THE LAKE.

Shepparton’s own Heard Instinct Collective and Melbourne’s outer west music collective OFF THE GRID present, The Lakeside Hustle – a hip hop, soul and rnb live music take over at the lake!

A massive line up of emerging young artists of colour from all around Victoria, will bring Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake to life with self-produced beats, rhymes, catchy hooks and a good dose of straight up swagga.

From our roots in Yorta Yorta country, to African and gospel inspired hip hop music and dance, to the smooth vocals and soul of the Pacific Islands, this end of year party will celebrate a new generation of contemporary music talent with performances by: Heard Instinct Collective, Madi Colville Walker, Bricky B, Uncle Buck, Titan Debirioun, Krown, Mike Wang, Deng Tebir, King Nebs, Double M, Malual, Ree, Annabella, Yung Kily Jons, Flexing Twice, Kingroseupnext, Sam and Naomi Manatua, Ruth and DJ Rivity Rascal.

Produced by Multicultural Arts Victoria with young artists from Shepparton and Wyndham, The Lakeside Hustle will showcase artists who have been involved with two self determined youth driven music mentoring program Heard Instinct (Shepparton) and OFF THE GRID (Wyndham). Both of these programs facilitated by young artists with support from MAV, have provided creative, collective working environments for young artists of colour to learn with peers and with professional artists and producers, to explore their creativity, share stories and ideas, develop skills in songwriting, arranging and recording, and experiment with new sounds.

Heard Instinct artist, Ree Peric says, “Heard Instinct and OFF THE GRID are safe spaces that have allowed young, multicultural artists in Shepparton and Melbourne’s outer West to express ourselves in ways that we think we can be heard. We are like minded groups of artists that support each other, collaborate and uplift each other to be the best we can be.

These programs have been so important for our creative development as we don’t have access to the facilities that other youth have in inner city areas. We can’t wait to collaborate together, outer west Melbourne meets Shepparton, and show you what we’ve been up to this year in the studio and on stage.
