March 21, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Multicultural Arts Victoria, in collaboration with Ivanhoe Library, invite you and a guest to a presentation and readings from the recent publication titled: MIGRATION – Stories from Banyule

As part of MAV’s What Happened At The Pier program, “MIGRATION” touches on the profound cultural heritage of people who in seeking a new beginning, left behind much of what was important to them.

This social history, co-edited by Lella Cariddi with Christine Mathieuaimsto: inform, inspire and connect with people of all ages and diverse cultural heritage, to learn and reflect on the experiences of migrants who made the long journey by shop and disembarked at Port Melbourne.

“MIGRATION” is a record of fourteen unforgettable life stories by and about families from England, Italy, Greek Islands, Malta, Slovenia and Poland, who arrived in Australia between 1840 – 1961.

Come join us and you will have the chance to meet the authors and reflect on your own history and heritage.
