International Artistic Program

International artistic program: To showcase culturally diverse Australian CALD artists work at International Arts Market showcases and to increase professional performance opportunities particularly in Asia including Indonesia, Singapore, Japan, Vietnam and Korea.

MAV is importantly developing strategic partnership programs to promote high quality culturally diverse Australian art at an international level with a view to establishing and strengthening partnerships and pathways for our artists internationally.

In 2006, MAV was represented at WOMEX (World Music Expo) in Spain by accomplished artists Nicky Bomba and Dereb Desalegn with the support of Arts Victoria.

MAV has also supported visual arts internationally; Naomi Ota's work was exhibited at the Esplanade in Singapore.

In June 2007, MAV attended Singapore Arts Mart with highly respected Tony Yap Company to showcase the Company’s unique cross cultural multi-modal performance work.

This has led to significant connections with Singapore for developmental work with the Necessary Stage and in Korea with Nottle Theatre.

MAV will continue to seek opportunities internationally for our artists and will support the artistic collabortaions with TYC in the Asian region and auspice the Company from 2009.
