Mandinka Sound - featuring two extraordinarily talented Melbourne-based West Aftrican Acts - One Africa and Muhanamwe

The ultimate in African roots-based music, Mandinka Sound brings you two extraordinarily talented Melbourne based West African acts, Muhanamwé and One Africa.

One Africa (Senegal/ Gambia)

One Africa features two of Melbourne's most celebrated West African performers, King Marong and Lamine Sonko. A subtle fusion of traditional West African culture and contemporary Australian influences, One Africa creates a hypnotically soulful repertoire of original songs.

Muhanamwé (Guinea)

Muhanamwé (meaning culture) has emerged from the dense and vibrant undergrowth of Melbourne's world music scene as one of the freshest and most exciting West African percussion and dance ensembles. Muhanamwé not only draws from its deep roots in West Africa, but also updates and brings new life to an ancient musical and cultural tradition.
