Multicultural Arts Victoria congratulates Tony Yap on being awarded a two year dance fellowship from Australia Council for the Arts.
The fellowship will allow Tony Yap, a long standing MAV member, to undertake a two-year program of activity that includes the creative development of a major solo work, Buddha Body Series. His aim is to widen his experience and creative links as an Australian artist in Asia, establish the Tony Yap Company as a company for collaborative connections to network primarily in Asia and internationally and to continue to nurture an appreciation of challenging contemporary Asian Arts to audiences from all multicultural backgrounds.

2007 'E1' was featured at the Singapore Asian Arts Market where the network of artists was established.
Mentorship to young and emerging artists in Alice Springs, Brisbane and Sydney and overseas. Mentorship includes ongoing workshops in Melbourne where young butoh artists perform in a Beyond Butoh Festival held annually.
