Multicultural Arts Victoria is proud to support the Australian premiere of The Light in the Shadow, a collaboration between RiverGrass Dance Theatre, Malaysia & Tony Yap and company, Australia. The program premiered at the Malaysian International Dance Festival, Kuala Lumpur, 2005.

Inspired by the signs of decay of the angel, as described in Buddhist text. The dance is drawn from Butoh, Asian shamanistic practise & contemporary western styles, a collaboration that challenges the boundaries of present dance/theatre practice. ...intense ...provocative ...mesmerising (The Star, Malaysia).
