Multicultural Arts Victoria presents Do the Right Thing in partnership with the City of Melbourne. Held on Human Rights Day, the event is to promote awareness and acceptance bringing together young people from different faiths and backgrounds to celebrate cultural unity and promote harmony.

PERFORMERS

Through hip-hop, reggae beats and soulful sounds it will be a non-stop music revolution for young Australians with all day boogying & sweat dropping for peace. Blue skies summer celebration, to get the whole city bouncing. Dynamic performers will get the party started with hip-hop, reggae, funk and soul acts, as break-dancers warm up the floor.

  • TZU - Grab the mic and spit what you like, killer vibe with conscious rhymes. This group is known for holding a set down and passing a positive message and that’s what Tzu all about.
  • Briscoe Sisters - Naurita and Deline generate stunning harmonies their song a delightful roots mix of downbeat acoustic soul funky riffs. This indigenous band will capture your imagination while planting the seed of inspiration into every soul.
  • Diafrix - Two immigrants from the African land decided to grab a pen and paper and rock the floor and let people know what time it is, with their style switching from hip hop to dancehall.

    With special demonstrations by Make Poverty History and Hook - Students for Trade Justice, including Fair Trade coffee and chocolate giveaways and much much more.
