Ajak Kwai (kultour 2006)

DARWIN August 12; KATHERINE August 13; TENNANT CREEK August 26; ALICE SPRINGS September 2; ADELAIDE September 15;

In August and September, Multicultural Arts Victoria, as part of kultour, the network dedicated to touring quality multicultural arts, is presenting "Ajak Kwai" in Dawin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs and Adelaide. Melbourne based Ajak Kwai performs songs of the timeless musical traditions of her people, the Dinka of Southern Sudan. Her unique vocal style is distinctly Saharan and her deep philosophical and global concerns are expressed in her heartfelt songs of love and hope for her homeland.

"I highly regard the talents and skills of Ajak as she brings together a culturally rich and diverse music genre. Ajak has been at the forefront of developing African Music in Tasmania and she has been instrumental in developing many projects and concerts that enhances cultural pride and identity through her music."
