Busta Mento is a unique group playing early style Calypso and Mento music from the Caribbean.
BUSTA MENTO formed after founding member Nicky Bomba returned from an extensive trip to Jamaica and beyond.
The band perform in an authentic acoustic setting utilising double bass, congas and maracas, banjo, acoustic guitar, trumpet and astounding 4 part harmonies in the real tradition of the style. The music predates the worldwide reggae explosion with cheeky lyrics, infectious danceable rhythms and a real sense of spontaneous fun.
BUSTA MENTO is primarily suited to an acoustic roaming style setting, but can perform easily in a set stage situation.
Highlight show of year so far was being invited to play at the Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock.
